If you have been following along in my blogs for the past 5 weeks, I have been talking about mental toughness and breaking it down. After everything I learned, I wanted to see where Shaun and I are for mental toughness. We took this quiz 20 question quiz (since it was free) and got our results. Now, obviously it doesn’t go super in depth, but it is a starting point for us. Here is the link to the quiz https://mentaltraininginc.com/services/mental-toughness-test.
Sam’s results:
Overall: 68/100
1. Motivation (Control): 18/25
2. Concentration (Commitment): 14/25
3. Coping with Pressure (Challenge): 17/25
4. Confidence: 19/25
Shaun’s results:
Overall: 74/100
1. Motivation: 19/25
2. Concentration: 15/25
3. Coping with Pressure: 19/25
4. Confidence: 21/25
So this quiz uses different terms compared to the 4 C’s, but they are pretty similar to what we have discussed. I thought it was very interesting that Shaun are pretty close in every category and in our overall score. I honestly thought that he was going to smoke me, but I was also higher than I thought I would be.
The big category that him and I both need to work on is concentration and I know our main issue. It’s technology… We both are not good when it comes to controlling our screen time. Shaun recently has started to use his app detox again which limits how long you can be on an app, and once the time is up it closes it for the day. This category is also something that I want to do another blog series on to follow our journey with improving our concentration. I would like us to start meditating in the mornings, or any time of the day. I believe it could really help some of our focus issues.
I am not surprised at all that challenge is my next lowest, because I am the worst when it comes to uncomfortable situations. I get super nervous and self conscious and care way too much about what people think about me. So, that is something that I know I have to work on.
The rest of it, I believe Shaun and I can improve the most by setting ourselves up for success. We are huge procrastinators and are lazy. We already know we are more productive when we make a to-do list and plan our weeks out, but we just don’t do it. I think once we change are mindsets and we can really improve the sections with the routine.
I loved doing this series and learned so much about myself and about mental toughness. I can’t wait to change some things in my life to help myself improve and become a stronger person.
