Get Uncomfortable

How many self help books have you read? Now, how many of the things that are in those books have you done in real life? I bet you it is a pretty small amount. Society now, is filled with books on how to do better but few do the items in those books. Back in the day, you had to just figure it out on your own. Day by day, if you made a mistake, you just had to cut your loses. Now, we are overloaded with information and are afraid to take the first step.

The first step is the hardest, because we are uncomfortable. We are stepping out of our comfort zones, the place that we fell safe because it is the same thing we have done for awhile. But are you happy? If you aren’t happy to be in the same place you are now, then you have to get uncomfortable to get to that happy place. Guess what it means when we get uncomfortable? We are growing, we are learning! For some of us, it has been awhile since that last time we had to learn something that wasn’t from a self-help book.

We need to get back to our roots and start learning from our mistakes. Or, if you want to read a book, then start applying those items to your daily life. Don’t go big at first, just do one thing a day and keep track of how you are feeling while doing it. But if you don’t start doing today, then when will you start? Tomorrow is just as good as today, and today is better than a year from now. I recently was looking at a notebook of mine and saw that 3 years ago I wanted to get a 6 pack. If I would have committed myself back then, then I would still have those abs and I wouldn’t be thinking what if I would have just started.

We will always think back to what could have been. You need to stop doing that and think about what can be! We need to start looking at the present and the future, and what you can do today to make your future look brighter! So get out there, start doing all of the things you said you were going to do. Become a better version of you today! NOT tomorrow, TODAY!
