Getting Stuff Done

If you did everything you promised yourself you would do, how much farther would you be in life? We are our own worst enemies. We are the reasons that we hold ourselves back. Imagine the possibilities if we had no distractions or ways to procrastinate. The results could be endless!

We need to remind ourselves of this every day, but make sure to not overwhelm yourself. We tend to procrastinate because we are overwhelmed with the amount of things we need to accomplish. But, if we just started plucking away at our list of to-dos, we would be farther every single day and be less overwhelmed.

My biggest suggestion is to do two things.
1. Make a big to-do list.
I have one list that is for personal things I want to do, and the second is for business.
2. Do a power list everyday.
The power list is 5 critical tasks that will get your farther. Most of my critical tasks are not part of my 40 hour a week job, so to make myself less overwhelmed, I usually do about 3 a day. This way, I am still chipping away at my tasks, but I don’t feel overwhelmed. Then, with my task above, if I have extra time in a day, I will work on a task from my personal list afterwards or get a head start to the next day.

Another thing that I highly suggest, is writing your schedule down on paper. Phones and apps are great, but you don’t remember as much if you have them on there. Plus, I get a little dopamine rush when I get to cross an item off of my list.

The last little thing that I have for you, is that improving yourself by 1% a day, is better than 0% a day. Even just making the tiniest of improvement or head way on something is a step into the right direction. Trust me, once you start on something, then you have the motivation to finish it.
