Do you earn your paycheck every week? Are you putting in the work at your place of employment at the best of your ability or are you stealing from your company? Most people do not realize, you are stealing from your company if you are not accomplishing your duties, whether from talking, avoiding the work, doing personal work, or not focusing on the task at hand. These things do not allow you to perform the job at the best of your ability, thus, you are stealing money from the company, through the lack of your work ethic.
Work ethic is paramount in living up to your full potential. If you do not have a strong work ethic, you will not be recognized to move up in your company. You will not be given raises and promotions to increase your standard of living, invest for your future, and help others. If you are not living up to your full potential at work, that will trickle into your home life. What kind of role model will you be to your kids, if they see you do not have a good work ethic?
This is even more apparent when you are starting your own business. In business, your main asset is your time. Typically when you start a small business you are not doing the role of just the employee. You’re doing all of the roles of operating a company. This can change pretty quickly by putting the right people in place, however, starting a business, you have to grind and put in the hours to get the business off the ground. It does not matter the job, put in the work to the best of your ability and you will have no regrets later in life. You will have to put forth everything you have but that way you know you gave it your all. 45% of businesses fail in the first 5 years, do not be one of these because you did not want to put forth the effort to thrive.
Looking at success on Instagram and social media makes it seem easy, like they have something you do not. It seems as if they have it made because of luck or handouts. Now some of them may be leveraged to the gills or putting on a fake front, with their belongings that are actually rented. However, for the real successful people who are showing their lavish lifestyle. You do not see all the work, time, effort, and sacrifices they pay while growing their businesses and creating content behind the scenes.
Life is not easy, success is not easy, but if you put in the work to the best of your ability, you will be able to sleep at night, knowing you are doing all you can do.
