Lately while I’m listening to podcasts, they have been talking about thinking about the future. That at all times, you should have an idea of where you want to be in 10 years and work your way backwards. Shaun and I have made our vision and made very small goals that we want to try and meet every year or so. It is a huge thing in our lives, but we definitely need to start looking at it more often. But recently I have been talking to friends that have no idea where they want to be in 5 years. It honestly scares me when people don’t think about their futures and what their plans are.
Nowadays, most people just want to go to work, go home and repeat over and over. People aren’t planning their futures and thinking about what will happen to them. Shaun and I have been buying assets that will help us for whenever we decide to retire. We like to think about what we would be happy doing for 10 years. Each one of us only has one life, so I like to make sure I am happy doing it. No matter what you decide now, you can start over whenever and learn new skills.
There are very simple step by step guides if you google search “Creating a Vision” to help you start if you have never created one. The best part is being able to make a list of your biggest dreams and goals, and working backwards to see how you can get yourself there. The bigger you dream, the bigger goals you will be able to accomplish in the future. So, I highly suggest getting either a white board or a cork board to put ideas and pictures of your goals to help you visualize your dreams. Those are great ways to add or take things off as your ideals change with your growth. Here is a post we wrote on vision boards if you want to see what we have to say about that https://tutorsoflife.com/2021/07/13/a-vision-board/
Just don’t forget to review it frequently. We forget what we have decided in the past unless you review it often. I like to know where I am going, and where I am heading. It’s a little less scary to think about it, once you think about it often.
I cannot express enough times, how important it is to do your vision and think about your future.
