One thing that Shaun and I talk about frequently is our future and planning for it. We try to always think ahead, but I mean years ahead. Recently, I started to realize that we should be planning our individual weeks like that as well.
Too many times, I fall in the trap of thinking about how I have the rest of the week to do that task. The rest of the week comes and goes, then I am rushing to get it finished by Friday. Or I want to work out 4 times a week, and I keep telling myself that I will do it tomorrow. Well, by the time it is Thursday or Friday, I have to workout everyday for 4 days in a row and usually I have things going on during the weekend and fail that task.
Well, not getting my blog done on Tuesday like I am supposed to made me think about this. I had so much time earlier in the week, or even on Sunday to do it. Instead, I either scrolled on social media or some other task that could be done whenever! Today, it made me think of all of the other things that I have not gotten done, because I keep telling myself tomorrow which becomes the following week, then the following month.
Now, I want to map out my week ahead of time, and whenever I finish all of my tasks on that day to start working on the tasks I had for the following day. This way, I can stay ahead of schedule and hopefully get other tasks done ahead of time. Every year, I finish my year with thinking that I could have gotten more accomplished. So, for the rest of the year I want to switch my mindset and see if I can make myself think that Wednesday is Friday and then I have two more days to get more tasks done ahead of time.
Everything is a mindset change. I got three months left in the year, and we shall see if this will help me feel like I am ahead schedule versus behind. What are some mindset shifts you want to implement the rest of the year?
