Drifting

Are you drifting through life? Do you have a definite purpose or are you just going with the flow? Turns out, as chill as “going with the flow” sounds, it can actually be a major detriment to your life.

When you drift, you are not in control of your situation. You do not know what actions you should take to reach your goals because you do not have definite goals. Which makes it easy to do things you should not be doing. You are able to be influenced into doing things that do not benefit you or your family. By drifting, you are giving up control of your life and there is only one way to fix this.

Find a definite purpose! You need to identify your definite purpose and direction in life. Once you are able to do this, you can map out a plan for your definite actions. If you do this properly, you will know how and where you are going. It will also help with saying no to other opportunities, good or bad, which do not align with your definite purpose.

I recommend reading two books which discuss this mentality. First is “Outwitting the Devil” by Napoleon Hill and the second is “Grit” by Angela Duckworth.

Remember, if you do not know where you are going, it is a lot easier to get lost. If you know where you are going and you have a road map to get there. You are a lot less likely to be thrown off the path of least resistance. Identify your definite purpose and make a road map to reach it. Be cognizant of drifting, so you can identify it when it is happening and get back on track.
