How you do something is how you do everything. People may say, “don’t sweat the little things” and they may be correct in some instances. Such as getting started on an endeavor based on a big goal, don’t sweat the little things, you will figure them out along the way. However, you still want to be diligent with the little things.
The little things all compound into the big thing. It is all about the little victories! Such as waking up on your first alarm, going to the gym when you said you would, not spending money on the amazon purchase, going to a networking event instead of staying home and watching tv, making your cold calls, whatever it is, the small tasks matter. How you perform the small tasks in your personal life, will carryover into your professional life, and vice versa.
Bringing intention to the little things, will give you small victories. Those small victories give you momentum. The more victories you can string together, the greater your momentum becomes. Which leads to big momentum and big goal achievement! And it all started with being intentional on one little task.
One area I have really noticed this correlates with from business to personal is spending. If I become a little lackluster on my spending personally, maybe I am buying too many coffees or eating out instead of cooking dinner, I will start to be wasteful in business as well. Next thing I know, I am buying some new tools, then bam, I buy a new trailer. The little things can compound for good and for bad. You have to be conscious you are taking the little tasks seriously, so you get the positive compounding effect.
Be intentional!
